The administration of DHM resulted in enhanced regulation of glucose levels inside the body and increased responsiveness to insulin. At week 14, measurements were taken for several parameters correlated to glucose homeostasis in the six groups of rats (n = 6). The parameters included: A fasting blood insulin; B fasting blood glucose; C homeostasis model assessment (HOMA)-insulin resistance index; D The quantitative insulin-sensitivity check index (QUICKI); E The blood glucose curve and the corresponding area under the curve in the IPGTT (n = 3); F The blood glucose curve and area under the curve in the IPITT (n = 3). *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01 vs. the NC group; #P < 0.05, ##P < 0.01 vs. the HFD group
